Adult Sunday School Classes

9:40 AM

Journey of Faith
Room 500
A class for those who want to make that first-time commitment to be a part of a new adventure in faith. Class members are varied in age, interests, and backgrounds and enjoy fellowship in each other’s homes.

Faith Builders
Room 501
In-depth discussions on a variety of topics, including the Bible, history, theology, and Methodist doctrine, are enjoyed by this class of couples and singles, 40+ in age. Different viewpoints and lively conversation are a certainty every Sunday. Luncheons and group activities are also enjoyed.

Sonshiners
Room 502
Geared for older adults 65+ who enjoy Bible studies, sharing, caring, and fellowship. This friendly, caring class uses the “Adult Bible Studies” curriculum and a teacher leads the discussion lessons. The class also meets for breakfast at the Village Inn on 71st and Memorial on the last Sunday of the month at 7:30 and all are invited!

Newcomers
Room 503
Sundays, Sep. 12—26
This 3-week class is for those who are newcomers to our church as well as those who are already members. The sessions are led by Rev. Erma Pregler and include hand-outs, videos and discussion about basic Christian beliefs and distinctive United Methodist beliefs. Each week guest speakers present information about specific mission and ministry opportunities to serve here at Faith UMC.

Dialogue
Room 504
As the name implies, Dialogue is a class of discussion for people of all ages, married and single. Class topics are incredibly varied and if you have an open mind, a spirit of inquiry, and an appreciation for some constructive conversation, Dialogue may be for you.

Roundtable
Youth Wing (Fellowship Hall)
This class welcomes people of all ages. The name describes the format: roundtable Bible discussions.

11:00 AM

New Life
Room 500
New Life is made up of people ages 40-60, from singles to empty nesters. Open discussion in a caring environment is encouraged. This fun-loving class has an active social calendar and loves to welcome visitors.

Life Search
Room 501
This class appeals to adults of all ages, singles and couples, and they always have room for more! Studies vary, are led by members of the class, and lean toward contemporary topics. Their monthly socials often are family-oriented activities.

Soul Searchers
Room 502
Learning, loving and living our faith, the Soul Searchers class focuses on in-depth study and discussion of the bible and faith-based curriculum, as well as mission outreach and fellowship activities. Everyone is welcome—no age limit. Even our more mature members are still young at heart!

Foundations
Room 504
Join us for fellowship and study as we seek to apply Biblical teachings to our lives today. Class members enjoy adult, family, men's, and women's events as well as reaching out to our local community through mission work. Classes consist of a diverse range of short study topics and discussions.

Bridgebuilders
Room 505
This class is comprised of people who wish to grow in their faith and service. In existence for nearly 20 years, Bridgebuilders study topics ranging from contemporary issues to Bible video series and enjoy monthly socials and holiday parties.

Journey
Room 600
We are 25ish-35ish, single, newly married, young families, stay at home parent, professional worker, all in one basket, all in for God’s work, and all in for a good time.

Transitions
Room 601
These are college-age and other young singles with no children. Studies are often led by guest teachers and subjects vary. Interested in service, they are organizing a mission trip for Summer 2011.

CrossTalk
Room 604
This class is for those interested in enhancing their personal spiritual walk. Stimulating conversations and lots of laughter are hallmarks of CrossTalk. Class members take turns leading the lessons and a variety of topics are up for discussions. Quarterly socials (usually for families, but often adults only) are popular, too!
